Ayurveda stresses the importance of a daily skin care routine that includes cleansing, nourishing, and moisturizing; however, sometimes this routine alone is not enough to keep our skin looking absolutely radiant. For deeper exfoliation, ayurvedic experts suggest incorporating a weekly facemask made of fruits with natural replenishment properties. Of course, since skin type varies from woman to woman, the mask type also varies. Dry skinned women should use a mask of banana or avocado pulp. Sensitive skinned women should use a mask of banana or pineapple pulp. And last but not least, oily skinned women should use a mask of strawberry or papaya pulp. Before applying your skin specific fruit mask, be sure to do the normal cleansing step of your skin care routine first. After your wipe off any excess water, apply the fruit pulp to your face and neck in an upward motion, and then lie down for 10 – 15 minutes with your legs raised to increase blood circulation in the face. When your time is up, rinse the mask with warm water. Finish the treatment with your regular nourishment and moisturizing steps for best results.
