The martini is one of the most well known cocktails of all time. While there have been several variations throughout the years, my favorite is definitely the Dirty Martini. As the girl who once enjoyed walking around with pitted olives on the ends of all ten fingers, I absolutely love the hint of olive brine in this classic cocktail. If you’re looking for a great, timeless drink to serve to your holiday guests this week, see below for our Warm Olive inspired step-by-step instructions to making the perfect dirty martini!

Begin by preparing a chilled martini glass. If you have not had one stored in the freezer, fill a glass up with ice and cold water and allow it to sit while you mix. Second, pour 2 ounces of gin, 1 tablespoon of dry vermouth, 2 tablespoons of olive juice, and 2 olives into a bar shaker. Third, add a small amount of ice to the bar shaker, and then shake or stir the mixture briefly depending on your preference. Fourth, be sure to empty your chilled martini glass and fill with your dirty martini mixture. Fifth, use the two olives in the mixture as a garnish by poking them onto a bar toothpick. Last and most important, serve with a smile and enjoy!
