If you have ever visited Wyoming, you have surely visited the spectacular Yellowstone National Park (The park extends into Idaho and Montana). Yellowstone was the first national park in the world, and is known for its wildlife and especially for the Old Faithful Geyser. one of the most popular features in the park. It was established by the US Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872.

The park is located at the head of the Yellowstone RiverLater--it is commonly believed that the river and park were named for the yellow rocks seen in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
